UNLEASH THE RESILIATOR WITHIN! Resilience programs for organizations

A resilience program creates organisational resilience by equipping everyone within it with the resources they need.

Without resilience in the face of constant change, individuals will suffer stress, anxiety, depression, fatigue and eventually burn-out.

Resilience can be learnt. Resilient individuals embrace constant change; are adaptable and flexible; anticipate change; are pre-emptive and change before they have to. Everyone in the organisation can create the environment in which resilience can flourish.

UNLEASH THE RESILIATOR WITHIN! Resilience coaching for individuals

Building resilience is critical in a world of constant and disruptive change.

This is a series of one-on-one coaching workshops, delivered by Karen Ferris, for an individual who wants to be able to embrace ambiguity and uncertainty; act thoughtfully and manage their emotions; increase their emotional intelligence; maintain a healthy outlook with realistic optimism; connect, collaborate and build networks; operate with empathy and maintain a growth mindset.

Resilience is the ability to bounce forward after a setback or obstruction. It is more than just bouncing back.

BALANCED DIVERSITY A Portfolio Approach to Organizational Change

The choice of practices (activities) utilised to embed change into the organization are often ill-considered. They are guided by a person’s preference, bias and filters and often repeated change on change. As a result, the change will not realise the speed and depth of change adoption needed.

The Balanced Diversity framework provides a selection of 59 practices to choose from across four quadrants so that a portfolio of diverse, yet balanced, practices can be chosen.

The program, delivered by Karen Ferris, provides a free practices assessment and a report of recommendations. Knowledge of the framework and how to apply it is provided and a series of hand-on workshops conducted to utilise it on real-world projects.

NEED FOR SPEED F.A.S.T.E.R. Tools for a Digital Age

The only way to be truly responsive to constant change is to become quicker, iterative, lean and nimble and adaptable.

Organisations are looking at ways to increase their agility across the entire enterprise. Our challenge is managing the people side of such fast-paced change.

We need to align organisational change management with agile practices, continually transition, and keep pace with the cadence of iterative delivery.

We need tools and techniques that are FASTER - flexible, accessible, simple, transparent, evocative and relevant.

ADAPTIVE LEADERSHIP

Karen delivers two workshops in regard to adaptive leadership:

Adaptive leadership principles introducing the principles, concepts and benefits

Adaptive leadership tools and tactics to lead, to inspire others, and to mobilize people to tackle tough problems whilst reaching high.

Adaptive leaders acknowledge that we are now living in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world. When change is uncertain, leaders need to be able to read the right signals and act upon them.

Adaptive leaders learn through experimentation; they manage the context, not the instruction set. They cultivate a diversity of views to generate multiplicity of options.

Adaptive leaders know what to do when they don't know what to do. They adapt and thrive, regardless of the turbulence they face.

LEADING THE DISTRIBUTED TEAM

The world of work has changed and so must leadership. What got leaders where they were in 2020 will not get them to where they need to be today.

Leaders must learn to be empathetic and emotionally intelligent leaders. They must create a sense of belonging in which everyone feels respected and valued for their contribution. They must leverage employees' enthusiasm for learning new skills and work with them to ensure they have the right tools to succeed. They must provide both flexibility and autonomy for employees to determine where they will do their best work. And above all, there must be trust.

FROM COMMAND AND CONTROL TO EMPOWERMENT AND TRUST

Leaders need to let go of control. Organizations can only be responsive when they flatten the structure, remove the bureaucracy that slows them down, and give employees autonomy.

Autonomy means decision-making is distributed and communication flows easily throughout the organization. Employee innovation, creativity, and experimentation are embraced. Employees can self-manage, and they decide what to work on, how, and when.

One of the biggest challenges in creating this autonomous workplace is getting managers to get out of the way. Managers need to become true leaders and surrender control.

In this workshop, delivered by Karen Ferris, leaders are enabled to move from a position of command and control to one of empowerment and trust.

ACCOUNTABILITY

A lack of accountability in the workplace impacts organisational culture. There is low morale and high turnover. There is decreased efficiency and productivity, there is poor quality work, mistakes are left to smoulder until they explode, and customer satisfaction, performance and profitability are adversely impacted.

A lack of accountability is an organisational contaminant that must be addressed before it poisons and destroys the entire organisation.

The good news is that a culture of accountability in the workplace can be created with the right steps. This will drive organisational success through increased employee engagement and motivation.
