So long soups, stews, and hearty casseroles—we’re gearing up for fresh, in-season produce. And the Boston Public Market just made it even easier to access locally-grown fruits and veggies by announcing not only the return of their seasonal outdoor farmers markets, but the addition of one more market location.

Along with the Seaport and Dewey Square locations, the BPM is adding a new outdoor market at City Hall Plaza. At each location workers and residents in the area will be able to shop locally-sourced grocery essentials, picnic fare, and lunch options. There will be fresh produce, meat and poultry, seafood, bread and baked goods, flowers, and an assortment of prepared foods from more than 20 New England vendors.

“We appreciate that our partners share our goal of supporting New England producers and can help us bridge the gap between these small food business and the Boston community,” Cheryl Cronin, CEO of the BPM, said in a press release. “Just as we do in our year-round flagship location.”

The BPM has operated seasonal markets in downtown Boston for over 10 years and select vendors accept SNAP/EBT and HIP, in addition to WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program coupons. It’s a part of an even wider city initiative to get healthy food into everyone’s hands, similar to what the mobile farmers market Fresh Truck is doing.

Not only is eating seasonal produce more cost effective and tasty, it’s good for the environment and your body. You can find the market at Dewey Square on the Greenway on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m.-6 p.m., May 14-November 19. The City Hall Plaza market is open May 21-November 19, also on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m.-6 p.m. And the Seaport market is moving to the Seaport Common this year (where Seaport Sweat is located and adjacent to The Current) and will run from June 5-October 30 on Wednesdays from 12 p.m.-7 p.m.

A full list of all the vendors located at each one can be found on the BPM’s website.
